Why You Shouldn’t File for Bankruptcy

If you’re one of the millions who are in debt in this world, I’m almost certain that bankruptcy has crossed your mind. Bankruptcy never solves any problems, instead, it may make your life worse for the next seven years of your life. It’s going to be next to impossible to get any type of loan, let alone a credit card. I’m going to point a few reasons on why you shouldn’t declare bankruptcy, no matter how much money you’re in debt.
You’re not in enough debt – If you’re only $5,000 or $20,000 in debt, don’t even think about filing for bankruptcy. This amount can be paid off relatively quick if you get off your butt and get another job. Money doesn’t come easy but if you work hard for it, it’s going to come fast and those debts are going to get knocked off fast. Debt can’t be knocked off overnight and this world wants instant gratification. I’m sorry people, your debt will take time to pay off. Bankruptcy isn’t the easy way out!! Get up, get more jobs and pay off your debts. Even if it takes 3 years, it’s a lot better than having a bankruptcy ding on your credit report, trust me.
Bankruptcy doesn’t solve everything – Most people just assume that when you declare bankruptcy, you’ll have no more bills to pay. While this can be true sometimes, it’s not the case for some bills. Student loans, your taxes, fines, child support and other bills are just a few that will always remain with you no matter what. So if you think you can just simply flip a switch and all your problems are solved, you’re wrong. Live like most Americans do and pay off your bills and give the companies back what they were nice enough to lend you. How would you like it if you lent out a few thousand dollars to your friends and they never paid you back? Every company out there is no different.
You hate the harassment – Sure, when you’re in debt, you’re going to get attacked by creditors. I know it’s annoying but there are things you can do about it. Don’t declare because you want to get them off your back, it’s not going to be that easy. Work with them and learn the laws when it comes to having creditors harassing you. There’s a lot you may not know about.
Declaring bankruptcy should be the last thing you do. Don’t declare it just to get out of debt. It’s not that easy. Get another job, concentrate on debt and hit it hard. If you have the focus, the action to do so and you do everything the experts say, you won’t have a problem getting out of the hole. You’re not the only one out there who’s in debt. Stop feeling sorry for yourself and fix your debts today!
