Why You Should Take Pictures of Everything You Own
posted by FindSecuredCards.comWe all work hard for the things that we own and want. So, when the unexpected things happens, and our stuff gets ruined or stolen, we are extremely bummed and feel as though we did all that work for nothing. When a fire hits, a natural disaster happens, or when someone does the awful act of stealing, the time is not only frustrating but we are also extremely upset.
It is always a great idea to prepare for the worst of what may happen. Even if it never happens, it is better to be safe than sorry right? So, if you want to prepare yourself, and get ready for the worst that could ever happen, you can do that in a few different ways. One of them being:
Take pictures of what you own:
What are the benefits of taking pictures of the items you own?
If anything where to happen to your home or belongings (heaven forbid), having a list and proof of the items you had before can help you tremendously. This will not only help out you, but the insurer as well. A lot of people don’t take the time to take record of what they own, which can make things really difficult to get replaced.
How can it be done?
All you need to do is take a picture of every room in your home, and make sure you get the larger/more expensive items in it. So, take pictures, and then get snapshots up close of the brand names and model numbers of the really nice things. For example, these will be your TVs, DVD players, computers, etc. Once you have taken a picture of them, you will want to upload them to a computer and then onto a CD. Just in case something happens to the CD make a few copies and give them to a family or friend so they can hold onto them as well.
A lot of people put off doing this, but it will only hurt them in the long run. Be prepared, have a good idea of what you have inventory wise, and have it all there for the insurer to see.
