Whether you’re applying for jobs to pay down debts or you’re applying for jobs simply because you’ve lost yours, I’m going to show you some signs that you should look out for when you’re on your job hunt. A lot of the times, people have no idea if a company is interested or not. Hopefully, by the time you browse these tips, it will give you a better understanding if you’re going to get that job or not.
You’re getting contacted – If you start putting your resume on career builder sites, this is the first step toward finding a great job. Now, if you start getting calls or e-mails, you can consider yourself lucky because many people can’t get to this point. What does this mean for you? This means that your profile fits what the company is looking for. The more e-mails and phone calls you get, this means your skills are in demand at the time.
Companies want phone interviews – Sure, a email and phone call is great here and there but if you get a company that wants to conduct a phone interview, this is great! This is the next step to getting the job. Lots of people apply for jobs and can’t even get this far. A phone interview is a great step toward the position you want.
Schedule an actual interview – This is the grand daddy of them all. If the company calls you up and says that they want to meet you in person, this is the furthest you can get in a job interview. Now, some jobs may be different than others where you need more than one interview to get the job but most of the time, you will only need one interview to land that job if you do it right.
Feel the vibe – Any good job seeker can feel the vibe from a company when they are interviewing you. If they asking you about other job possibilities and when you can start, this is a great sign. You want to feel a positive vibe where you think that they will start you ASAP. If you hear responses like we will call you if you are qualified or thank you for your time, etc. This isn’t the greatest sign in the world.
If you’re getting interviews and phone calls or e-mails, you’re doing something right. If you’re not, you may want to look into re-doing your resume or looking at different job titles. Be aggressive with your job search and good things will come.
