Everyone in today’s era has some sort of cable bill.  Whether you have the premium package with 1,000 channels, or the basic package with 10 channels, there are ways to save on your bill, even if you don’t think you can.  I want to give you some advice today on how you can save money on your TV bill from month to month.

Do your homework on competitors

Even if you’re happy with your cable company, look at what the other cable companies are offering.  If they are offering a better deal than what you have today, write down the information.  After you write down the information, you’ll want to call up your current cable company, and tell them about it.  See what they can do for you, and if they match these rates.  If they won’t match the rates, tell them that you’re thinking about switching to the competitor.

Look over all of your channels

Get ahold of your cable channel guide, and see what channels you have.  Scroll down the list, and put a little check mark next to the ones that you can live without.  You’ll be surprised that you don’t even watch 80% of the channels on your list.  If this is the case, you may want to downgrade your package to something cheaper.

Is there a bundle package available?

Many cable companies have a bundle package available in today’s market.  You can sign up with phone, cable, and internet to save on money.  If you have all of these services, you may want to see if there’s a way to save money on a bundle package.

You could always give up cable

If you don’t watch TV that much, you could always give up cable 100%, and just watch your local channels.  If you have your internet still, you can watch hundreds of TV shows on websites like Hulu, and YouTube.  Get special attachments, where you can watch TV shows directly on your TV from your computer.

Try some of these tips if you’re looking to save on cable TV.  As I mentioned, even if you think you’re paying a cheap rate, there are ways to get even a better deal than what you’re paying today.
