How to Keep Better Track of Your Bills
posted by FindSecuredCards.com
All of us have a busy and hectic life at some point. We have to get up and go to work, come home and take the dog for a walk, and pick up our child at basketball practice. Then we come home, eat dinner, and go to bed. With such a busy schedule, we often forget to do certain things, and become forgetful. Something that is easy to forget about is paying our bills on time. This is especially easy if we have paperless statements and they’re supposed to be paid online without mail reminders.
If you find it hard to keep track of your bills, and to pay them on time, you’re not alone. Consider a few of these tips below to keep yourself organized, and on top of everything!
Notebook – You will want to get a notebook and make columns to organize your bill list. In this notebook you will write down every monthly bill you have and how much it costs each month on average. Then, at the end of the month when you get the bill write down how much it really cost you. This will remind you of every bill that you have.
Bill pay – I bank with Bank of America and they have a wonderful way to pay bills. You log into your online account, and click on “bill pay”. Then you add all the companies that you pay each month, and write how much you want to pay them. This will be a good list of the companies you pay, and all it takes is a simple click to send the money (it takes it from your account.)
Schedule them – If you can, schedule all your bills to be paid at the same time. So, make your credit cards the same date, and same with your mortgage, electric bill, etc. A good way to do is the last day of the month. This closes up the last month, and starts you over on the 1st of the next month.
Reminders – If you need simple reminders, start putting sticky notes around the areas you’re at most, and also do cell phone reminders. You can go to your calender and it will alert you on that day that your bills are due.
Keeping track of your bills isn’t hard to do, but it can be easy to forget about them. So, if you want to make sure they’re paid on time, and that you can keep better track of where your money is going, consider a few of these tips above.
