If you’re currently out of a job or you’re just curious on what’s out there, did you know that there are plenty of careers out there that still thrive in a bad economy? If you’re one of the millions out there today without a job and you’re looking for one, let me show you where you can turn to start looking for a job.
Government jobs - With the new stimulus package being passed, it’s a great time to start looking for jobs in your local city or state. Search the state website and see what’s going to be happening in the near future. No matter how tough times are, the government will always be hiring.
Online businesses - As more and more people shop from home, they turn to the Internet for deals. One of the best places to start a business today is online. It doesn’t take a lot to learn how to market and manage storefronts online but if you can learn, you can thrive during the good and bad times.
Health care -Everyone gets sick no matter how bad the stock market does and this always means the health care industry is thriving. No, you don’t need to be a doctor or nurse to apply for a job. There are many other jobs available that don’t require a degree at all. Look at your local hospital’s website to see what kind of job openings they may have.
Education - This kind of goes along with government jobs but we always need to teach the future kids of America. Whether you get into a private or public school, there is always the demand for services inside the school. From a teacher to a janitor, check with your local schools in the area to see who’s hiring.
IT - As I already mentioned about the online business, anything in the Informational Technology world is booming. Let’s face it that the future is on the Internet and deals with technology. If you can learn programming or anything technology related, you could have a job for a long time to come.
Finance - From an accountant to an advisor, these jobs are around through thick and thin. In fact, many people need more help during a down economy to get advice on what they should do when the stock market is tanking.
By now, I hope you have a better idea on where you can start looking for a job. If you have a skill in this field already, you’re on the right path. If you don’t, you may want to start looking at getting the right skillset. Even if you don’t, you can always start at the bottom and work your way up.
