Getting a Credit Card with Bad Credit
When people hear the words, “bad credit’, they instantly think of bad things. This isn’t the case when you’re looking for a credit card. Credit card companies are always looking for all types of customers. Whether you have bad credit or excellent credit, there’s always a credit card out there for you that will suit your needs. I’m going to show you today on how you can get a credit card with the worst credit in the world.
Start really small – My first word of advice would be to start small and when I say small, I mean department stores. If you think of any department store out there, they most likely have a credit card built for their store exclusively. The nice thing about this card is that they accept just about anyone and yes, even if you have bad credit, you can still get a card. The only thing different about your card (if you have bad credit) is that you’ll get a lower credit limit but the nice thing is that you’ll be able to build your credit back up since the card does report to the credit bureaus.
Department stores I’d recommend checking out are –
- Macy’s
- Dillard’s
- Sears
- Wal-mart
Check out your bank – If you’re already part of a bank or credit union, see if they offer a credit card. If they do, see if you can apply for one. Since you’re already a customer, the chances of you getting a credit card are pretty good, it never hurts to apply!
A secured credit card – If the above two points fail, you may want to resort to a secured credit card. The nice thing about a secured credit is that just about anyone is approved. I’ll quickly tell you how one works. A secured credit card is just like a normal credit card but it requires a small deposit to open the card up. The reason the companies ask for a deposit is so that if you don’t pay your bill off in time, they can simply dip into your account and withdrawal your money. This is why it’s important to pay off your bills!
