If you see a moving date in the near future, whether it’s because of a job, down-sizing to save money, etc, you’re going to need those boxes in order to move from point A to point B.  Now, instead of going out and buying those boxes, I wanted to show you how you can get them at no cost!

Head to your local grocery store

I’m sure you have a local grocery store, and if you do, go there and ask them for some boxes.  Most of them have them, and if they do, they will be more than happy to give them to you.  Since they will most likely be crushed, you’re going to have to act fast.  Sometimes you’ll find that talking with a manager will help you.

Liquor stores help as well

I’m sure you’ve never heard of this one, but if you have a liquor store in your area, ask them for some boxes.  You’re going to find that these are the strongest boxes around, since they have to hold many glass bottles.  Consider talking to the owner, or a worker there to see if they can set some aside.

Browse some websites

Websites like FreeCycle and Craigslist have a great free section on them.  If you browse around your area on those sites, you may come across some people that are giving away some boxes for free.  Read the descriptions, and see if you can go snag some.

You shouldn’t have to pay for boxes when you’re looking to move, but instead try some of these tips.  If none of these work, ask your friends, and relatives to see if they can lend a hand.  Once you get to your final destination, list your boxes for others to come pick them up!  It’s a great way to save space in house, while helping someone else.
