Buying a car is known to be one of the most expensive things we’ll spend money on.  Besides buying a house, a car is definitely next on the list for expensive bills and costs.  Although cars are known to be expensive, they don’t have to be.  You can easily find an affordable car if you look hard enough.  People are looking to sell their cars everyday, and just want to get some extra spending cash by selling it.

So, if you’re looking to buy a new car, yet you don’t want to spend more than you can afford, there is some luck for you!

Tips for buying a car for a cheaper price:

  • Always consider buying a used car instead of a new one.  Once you drive your car off the dealer lot, you’ve instantly lost hundreds, maybe even thousands of dollars.
  • Find a car that suites you and nothing more.  Yes, it would be nice to get a sports car, the newest SUV with all the neat features, etc but is it practical?  Get a car that is good for you, and nothing over the top.
  • Always haggle when you’re looking for a car.  Lets say you’re looking at a used car, you can always say “I have someone that will offer me a better price”.  Never go with the offering price, instead knock off a couple hundred if you can.
  • Consider a few different places when looking for a new car.  Always price compare, and see what deals they are willing to offer you.
  • Today, great gas mileage is almost a must.  Although it’s not your car payment, it still is money that is being spent on your car.  So, find a car that has atleast a decent gas mileage.

Finding a car can be a stressful situation, but really, it doesn’t have to be.  If you’re smart with how you spend your money, you don’t go over the top, and you don’t settle for too expensive of a price, you’ll be in your best situation!  So, while looking for a new car, be sure to consider these tips listed above.
