posted by FindSecuredCards.comEveryone loves taxes, right? Well, maybe not so much, but if you do your own taxes, or you have a professional help you, there are some deductions that people overlook when it comes time to file taxes. The more you can take advantage of, the more you’re going to save with your taxes. I wanted to point out a few deductions that many overlook, and can take advantage of.
- Cell phones: If its for business related purposes, you can write these bills off, as long as you use it for business only.
- Education expenses: If you had to go to school for a job, or to even improve your skills, write off your books, and educational expenses.
- Health insurance: If you’re self employed, you can write off your insurance, as long as it doesn’t pass it’s annual limits.
- Hearing aids, glasses: Yes, your glasses, as well as your hearing aids can be written off as a deduction.
- Home office: Obviously, if you run a business out of your home, you can write a lot off. From your computer, to your electric bill.
- Job seeking: Out of job? Well if you are, you’re probably out there looking for one. Write off your mileage, and resume printing expenses.
- Medical transportation: Any trip to the doctor’s office, urgent car, etc. If you rack up any fees in regards to tolls, or parking, save your receipt!
- Require work clothes: Ever work for a place that forces you to buy a uniform? Well, you can write those clothes off.
- Tax pro: If you have a tax pro, you can write this off on your taxes. Advice, and/or software can be included as well.
As long as you can document these things, and you’re not trying to rip off the government, you’ll be fine. If you have a professional helping you, be sure to bring these things up so that you can save lots of money!
