Getting a big credit card bill month, after month can be pretty frustrating, if you don’t know how to manage your credit cards.  If you’re finding that your habits are getting out of control, and you want to stop them, I’ll give you a few pointers on how it can stop, and it’s not that hard at all!

Give up your credit cards

Now, you don’t have to cut them all up, and cancel, but instead throw them somewhere such as a safe, etc.  You don’t want to have any credit cards on you.  This is going to stop you from using them when you’re out, and about.  Instead, you’re going to want to use either cash, or a debit card.

Cash if your best friend

Instead of using those pesky credit cards, you may want to look into using a prepaid credit card.  The thing I like about these is that you’re able to control your spending.  Let’s say that you want to spend $500 for the month.  You can place $500 on the card, and once it’s out, it’s out.  It’s a great way to control what you can, and can’t buy.

Always pay your bills off in full

If you decide that you want to stick to your credit card, you have to get into the habit of paying it off in full.  If you’re using a reward card, or just a plain card, you’re going to find that if you pay it off in full, you won’t have to worry about the interest rates.  The interest rates are going to kill you if you leave a balance on them month, after month.

Avoid withdrawing cash

Never ever use your credit card as a way to get cash.  You’re going to find that when you need cash, the cash advance rate is going to be insane, which it comes to the rates.  If you’re desperate for cash, you may want to analyze your situation, and ask yourself if you really need the money.
