Bad Credit DealershipsCar dealerships are everywhere and when you have bad credit, you’re probably going to look toward a dealership that offers cars to those with bad credit.  While it may sound like a fantastic idea, there are some things that you should look for before you go out and sign on the dotted line.

There are many places that want to prey on the weak.  They figure that since you’re in debt, you’re going to be desperate for cash.  This is why it’s always extremely important to look over any contract when signing up for anything, whether it’s a car, home, loan, or anything that holds you legally.

Always look over the contract

You may find that dealership that treats you like gold, and wants you to buy that car.  Trust me, someone can seem great on the outside, but on the inside they may be in it solely for the money.  When signing a contract at a dealership when you’re looking to finance, make sure you either read it over or grab an attorney.  You want to do this just to play it safe, because you may find out down the road that you signed your life away in terms of interest rates.

Watch the interest rates

Just because you have bad credit doesn’t mean you’re going to get the greatest interest rate possible.  When you finance your car, you want to make sure you know what you’re going to paying in the long run.  Usually, this will be laid out for you.  If you’re going to be paying 15% and beyond, you’re looking to pay a lot just into interest.  This is why I would recommend that you look into buying your car in cash, rather than financing it.  There’s no need for a new car when you can’t afford one.

Check with the BBB

Before you do any business or even step foot onto a lot, check with the Better Business Bureau to ensure that company isn’t up to no good.  You’ll usually get a good vibe just by the ratings online.  If there are a lot of bad ratings and feedback, you may want to avoid the dealer altogether.

In the long run, it’s best to play it safe.  You don’t want to run in, find a car, and sign your life away.  You’re already in enough trouble with your bad credit score and you want to work it up, rather than down.  Just by following these safe tips above, this can ensure you that you’ll find a car that’s good for your wallet.
