America is going into debt more and more. By the time you’re done reading this sentence, America just added thousands of dollars to it’s overall debt. Can we fix it? Will it ever go away? It’s hard to say but in our lifetime, we will always be a country in debt.
When it comes down to our country’s debt, you have to look at it this way and I’ve always thought this way. Take the American public for example and look at how they manage their money. Over 60% of America lives paycheck to paycheck and many of them live above their heads when it comes to spending their own money. They simply spend more than what they can afford.
Now, you take these people and think of the government agencies that are running our budgets, you have to think that they think financially just like that 60% because that’s a high number. You give them a dollar and they spend a $1.50. As statistics show, people will continue to live this way and sure, some people will bail out of their debt woes but many will continue to spend what they can’t afford because they simply think “they deserve it”.
It’s sad to say because as you may know or not know, millionaires or people that are wealthy, don’t show it. This is why I laugh when I see someone driving up in a $100,000 Jaguar and wearing a $2,000 suit. Most of the uneducated in America think “rich”. I laugh and think “debt to his eyeballs” and take a survey or read Millionaire next door, you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about.
Now enough with the rant, I can’t change the world when it comes to debt but if you’re truly interested in America’s Debt, check out this great debt clock. It shows you how much outstanding debt America has, how much it would take each of us to pay it off along with great news stories on the debt today. Even though we can’t really do anything about it, it’s sad and almost funny at the same time.
