Keep track – Also, set a budget up for yourself each month.  This will help you keep track of how much you’re spending, and how much you have left to spend.

Rewards – Find a card that is willing to give you rewards.  Whether it’s points, 5% back on purchases, low interest rates, etc.  Make your card do the work for you and help you out.

Safety – It is important to always think about safety when it comes to credit cards.  Never access your credit card account through an e-mail.  It may be someone trying to hack your information.  Always know where your credit cards are, and only sign in by going to the website directly.

Don’t apply – You also don’t want to apply for credit cards you don’t need.  A lot of people give you free gifts, etc which are nice, but opening up more accounts can hurt your credit score.

Transferring – You should always think twice before you transfer your balance to a different rate.  There may be fees included and the rate may not be that much lower.  It actually might end up hurting you in the end.  So, read all the fine print, and ask a lot of questions before you do so.
