Debt seems like a bad virus that will never go away, and while it can be that way if you don’t do anything about it, I want to give you some great tips that you can use in order to get rid of debt today.  In the long run, you may find that you’re the problem when it comes to debt, and you don’t even realize it.  Let’s take a look at how you can stop creating debt today for good.

Start using prepaid credit cards

The first step that you want to take is by simply getting rid of all of your credit cards.  This could be the sole reason on why you’re raking up the debt.  Instead of charging it, and paying it off later, consider getting a prepaid credit card, or a debit card that withdrawals the cash directly from your bank account.

Simply pay down your debts

It’s time to focus, and if you can’t do it, you may see your debt linger for quite some time.  It’s time to put your foot down, and attack that debt as if there is no tomorrow.   Take every penny you can, and apply it toward your debt, even if it means you’re living off beans and rice for a few months.  It’s all worth it in the end.

Combine your debt to a 0% credit card

If you have good enough credit, you may want to combine all of your debts to a 0% introductory rate credit card.  These rates only last a year, but it gives you a good amount of time to pay them off.  If you don’t have the greatest score, you may find that you won’t be able to apply for one, but it doesn’t hurt to try.  If you have a balance after a year, you may want to consider applying for another one, and transferring it.

With thousands of Americans in debt, you can stop creating it today.  It’s going to take effort, and some time.  Remember that it doesn’t disappear over night.  Instead, try some of these tips and see what you can come up with.

Saving money on diapersWhen you have younger children, and you’re in debt, it’s always hard to buy those necessities such as diapers, formula, clothes, etc.  Yes, diapers are obviously mandatory, and it’s hard to get them at a fair value, but I wanted to give you some tips and tricks on how you can save on diapers year around.

Cloth vs. Disposable: A cloth diaper may seem like a pain, but experts say that if you get into the habit of washing them daily, and avoid buying the disposable ones, you can save a ton of money.

Price compare: Never be afraid of the no-name brands when you’re shopping for diapers.  If you prefer to buy the no-name brand, you can save up to $200-300 a year alone.

Consider buying online: Whenever you want to purchase anything online, I always recommend that you check out online retailers before you go into the store.  You’ll find that retailers like Amazon and others are generally 30% cheaper than those in the store.

Buy in bulk: Since you’ll need diapers for a long time, you may want to just buy them in bulk, since you’ll need them down the road regardless.  Places like Costco, and Sam’s Club have great deals on diapers.

Find coupons: Yes, there are coupons for just about anything, and the same goes with diapers.  If you have access to coupon books, look for diaper coupons before you go out and purchase them.  Websites like CouponMom.com are great when you’re looking to find particular coupons.

Diapers are on sale all the time: Experts have noted that diapers are always on sale, it just depends on the brand name.  If you’re a fan of a particular brand, you’ll find that you can always get a good deal on diapers.

Yes, diapers can get expensive, but if you follow a few of these tips, you should find that you’ll be able to save money rather easily.  Try some of these tips, and see if you can save today!

Everyone in today’s era has some sort of cable bill.  Whether you have the premium package with 1,000 channels, or the basic package with 10 channels, there are ways to save on your bill, even if you don’t think you can.  I want to give you some advice today on how you can save money on your TV bill from month to month.

Do your homework on competitors

Even if you’re happy with your cable company, look at what the other cable companies are offering.  If they are offering a better deal than what you have today, write down the information.  After you write down the information, you’ll want to call up your current cable company, and tell them about it.  See what they can do for you, and if they match these rates.  If they won’t match the rates, tell them that you’re thinking about switching to the competitor.

Look over all of your channels

Get ahold of your cable channel guide, and see what channels you have.  Scroll down the list, and put a little check mark next to the ones that you can live without.  You’ll be surprised that you don’t even watch 80% of the channels on your list.  If this is the case, you may want to downgrade your package to something cheaper.

Is there a bundle package available?

Many cable companies have a bundle package available in today’s market.  You can sign up with phone, cable, and internet to save on money.  If you have all of these services, you may want to see if there’s a way to save money on a bundle package.

You could always give up cable

If you don’t watch TV that much, you could always give up cable 100%, and just watch your local channels.  If you have your internet still, you can watch hundreds of TV shows on websites like Hulu, and YouTube.  Get special attachments, where you can watch TV shows directly on your TV from your computer.

Try some of these tips if you’re looking to save on cable TV.  As I mentioned, even if you think you’re paying a cheap rate, there are ways to get even a better deal than what you’re paying today.

You’re at work, and the phone rings, and you find out it’s a bill collector asking where their payment is?  Every day, this happens to countless individuals, and the question today is, “Can a bill collector call you at work?”

Bill collectors are able to call you at work, only if you don’t give them permission to.  By law, if you tell the collector that you’re at work, and your employer forbids this kind of activity, they will have to stop by law.  Federal law prohibits this, and the bill collectors know this.

So, what happens if they continue to call, even if you tell them that you want this to stop?

If the bill collectors continue to harass you, even if you tell them to stop, you’ll want to either contact your Attorney Generals office at NAAG.org, or you’ll want to contact the FTC.  Each state has it’s own law, so make sure you check with your local state branch to see what the laws are, when it comes to bill collectors.

Even if you tell them to stop on the phone, make sure that you write them a certified letter as well.  Make sure that you make a copy for yourself.  The reason you’ll want to do this is because you’ll actually have some evidence, as compared to a phone call, where you won’t have any at all.

In the long term, calling at work can be done, only if you allow it to happen.  Since 99% of the employers out there wouldn’t like it to happen on company time, it’s best that you follow some of the advice mentioned above.
